Senior Associate, Corporate Accounts

Why This Role Matters

As part of Finexus core finance function, this role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of our financial reporting. You will directly influence decision-making by producing reliable financial statements, managing tax requirements, and strengthening accounting controls. Your ownership of end-to-end accounting processes enables the business to operate with confidence, transparency, and operational discipline.

About the Role

In this role, you will manage statutory reporting, tax matters, month-end closing, and day-to-day financial operations. You will review work prepared by junior team members, ensure compliance with IFRS/MFRS, and work closely with auditors and tax agents to maintain high reporting standards. You will also play a key role in improving accounting processes, enhancing internal controls, and supporting effective cash flow management.

Mission / Expected Outcomes

  • Deliver timely, accurate, and compliant month-end closing and financial reporting.
  • Strengthen accounting controls, documentation quality, and adherence to IFRS/MFRS standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with SST, indirect taxes, and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain reliable cash flow forecasts to support financial planning and funding decisions.
  • Drive process improvements and streamline workflows within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Accounting Operations

  • Manage full-set accounting activities including general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations, SST, and indirect taxes.
  • Review junior team members work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare financial statements and management reports in accordance with IFRS/MFRS and internal policies.

Tax Management & Statutory Compliance

  • Perform provisional and deferred tax calculations and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Liaise with auditors and tax agents for audits, filings, and statutory submissions.
  • Ensure all financial activities adhere to accounting standards and company policies.

Cash Flow & Financial Monitoring

  • Maintain cash flow forecasts and monitor inflows/outflows.
  • Raise funding requests and provide insights that support financial planning and management decisions.

Internal Controls, Process Improvements & Governance

  • Strengthen internal controls and ensure proper documentation and filing practices.
  • Identify gaps, propose improvements, and support the implementation of more efficient financial processes.
  • Contribute to finance-related projects and assist with ad-hoc assignments.

Technical Scope

  • Accounting standards: IFRS / MFRS
  • Tax knowledge: SST, indirect taxes, provisional tax, deferred tax
  • Tools: Accounting software, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft Office
  • Financial operations: Full-set accounts, reconciliations, financial reporting

Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, MACPA, CPA) preferred

Experience

  • 23 years of experience in audit or accounting roles
  • Ability to manage end-to-end accounting cycles
  • Experience in fintech is an advantage, but not required
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus
