We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Senior Associate reporting to the Manager, this full-time and permanent position is based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Fund Payments &Treasury Department and its growth.

Key responsibilities:

This role is primarily responsible for reviewing and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of Payments and Treasury operations within the Fund Administration function, ensuring compliance with internal controls and timely execution in line with client SLAs.

  • Review payment instructions and supporting documents prepared by the maker to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls and client procedures before approval.
  • Perform payment setup and validation in client bank portals or payment platforms when required, ensuring proper approval routing and adherence to internal authorization matrices.
  • Guide and support sub-teams in resolving payment-related queries, providing clarifications on procedures, and assisting the Manager or Team Lead in maintaining overall quality control and SLA compliance.
  • Coordinate with clients and banks on complex or escalated payments and bank account management matters, including account openings, signatory changes, i-banking user setup, and KYC documentation.
  • Perform call-backs and payment screening checks where applicable to validate payment instructions and safeguard against potential fraud or discrepancies.
  • Monitor and review client cash books and capital call trackers, ensuring reconciliations are accurate and completed on time.
  • Handle client and bank queries in a timely and professional manner, providing updates or resolutions consistent with agreed SLAs.
  • Support internal and external audits by reviewing documentation and ensuring records are properly maintained for audit readiness.
  • Identify process gaps or recurring issues and work with the Manager or Team Lead to propose improvements and strengthen internal controls.
  • Undertake any additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned from time to time to support team objectives and business needs.

Key requirements

  • Strong analytical mindset with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in reviewing payment instructions and supporting documentation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of payment operations, treasury processes, and bank account management requirements.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage high transaction volumes while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Proficient in identifying discrepancies, verifying supporting documents, and ensuring adherence to internal approval matrices and control frameworks.
  • Skilled in guiding and supporting sub-teams, providing clarifications, and fostering consistent application of processes across team members.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English, with the ability to handle client and bank queries professionally and confidently.
  • Strong collaboration and coordination skills when working with cross-functional teams such as Accounting and other Client Service teams.
  • Proactive, accountable, and solution-oriented, with the ability to assess risks, propose improvements, and ensure error-free execution.
  • Hands-on experience in payment review or bank portal operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
