About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer who bridges the gap between functional testing and systems engineering. You will be responsible for designing robust test frameworks from scratch using Selenium and Playwright. You must possess deep expertise in Java/TypeScript and be proficient in writing complex SQL queries to perform backend database validation (DBA level).

Key Responsibilities

Automation Strategy & Development

• Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable, reliable, and maintainable test automation frameworks using Selenium (WebDriver) and Playwright.
• Lead the migration from legacy Selenium scripts to modern Playwright architecture (parallel execution, trace viewer, context isolation).
• Write clean, efficient, and reusable code in Java and TypeScript for end-to-end, integration, and API testing.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitHub Actions) for automated test execution on demand and post-deployment.

Database Validation (DBA Level)

• Write complex SQL queries (Joins, Subqueries, CTEs, Window Functions) to validate backend data integrity, ETL processes, and business logic directly in the database.
• Perform data setup and teardown for test scenarios using SQL scripts.
• Analyze database schemas, indexes, and stored procedures to identify data-related defects.
• Validate data consistency across multiple relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server).

Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor junior automation engineers in Playwright best practices and SQL optimization.
• Collaborate with DevOps and DBA teams to ensure test data management strategies.
• Participate in architectural reviews to ensure testability and automability of new features.

Defect Management & Reporting

• Integrate test results with Allure/ReportPortal and alerting mechanisms.
• Debug failures using Playwright Trace Viewer, video recordings, and Selenium logs.

• Ability to articulate test strategies to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proactive in learning new tools (Playwright is evolving fast).
