About the Job:
We are seeking a Senior Backend & DevOps Engineer to drive backend development, Big Data platform operations, CI/CD automation, and production reliability for Keysight's PMA analytics platform. This role blends technical leadership, decision-making, and handson engineering in a fastpaced Agile/SCRUM environment supporting test and manufacturing use cases.
About the Team:
We are part of the Product Development team that is responsible for the growth of the Keysight businesses. You will work with Backend, DevOps, Data Engineering, Data Science, UI/UX, Architecture, and Management teams to deliver a scalable, performant, and secure analytics solution for customers.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Delivery
- Mentoring and guide Backend and DevOps engineers, plan workloads, review code, and uphold engineering best practices to achieve the epic/sprint goals.
- Translate requirements into clear tasks and ensure timely, highquality feature delivery.
Backend Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services (Spring Boot) and Big Data pipelines (Spark/Scala).
- Collaborate across teams to build endtoend features with high performance and reliability.
DevOps & Platform Operations
- Own CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and environment readiness.
- Maintain Big Data tools (Hadoop, Spark, NiFi, etc.) and ensure system uptime, scaling, and monitoring.
- Drive security patching, vulnerability management, and operational improvements.
Production Support
- Deliver cadence releases, troubleshoot issues, conduct rootcause analysis, and enhance system resilience.
- Recommend new tools and technologies to modernize the PMA platform.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a software-related discipline, from an accredited college or university.
- 5 years of Backend/DevOps experience with strong handson engineering ability.
- Proficiency with Hadoop ecosystem, Spark, Kafka, NiFi, HBase, and data pipelines.
- Strong hands-on experience in backend service development using Spring Boot and RESTful web services.
- Strong experience in databases (SQL & NoSQL), Linux, shell scripting, GitLab/Bitbucket, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Hands-on experience developing, debugging, and maintaining Apache Spark applications using Scala.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and configuration tools (Ansible/Chef/Puppet).
- Proven success working in a team-oriented environment, Agile/SCRUM teamwork skills and demonstrated problem-solving skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience mentoring small technical teams.
- Exposure to realtime analytics, microservices, REST APIs, or cloud-based distributed systems.
- Experience bringing up Hadoop clusters and managing Big Data packages.
- Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity and DevSecOps practices.
- Industry background in Test & Measurement, Electronics Manufacturing, PCBA, or Semiconductor workflows.
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable with fast-moving technical challenges.
