About the Role
Remedic Services & Supplies Sdn Bhd is looking for a strong, independent, hands-on Technical Service Manager / Senior Biomedical Technical Specialist to lead and manage our technical department.
This role is not suitable for someone who waits for daily instructions. We are looking for a responsible technical professional who can diagnose problems, make sound decisions, communicate confidently with hospital biomedical teams, support sales technically, manage service workflow, and create measurable value for the company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for endoscope repair coordination, Phoenix Medical Systems equipment support, electrical safety testing using Rigel, preventive maintenance, technical reporting, hospital training, spare-part follow-up, loaner equipment coordination, and technical department execution.
Key Responsibilities
Endoscope Repair & Service Management
- Diagnose flexible and rigid endoscope problems and prepare clear technical findings.
- Coordinate endoscope repair workflow from collection, inspection, supplier/vendor coordination, quotation support, repair progress update, final report, and return delivery.
- Manage loaner scope movement, loaner condition, customer communication, and repair turnaround timelines.
- Support sales and management with accurate technical input for repair quotations.
- Maintain repair history, service records, photos, reports, parts used, and customer feedback.
- Identify future repair, preventive maintenance, and service contract opportunities from hospital visits.
Phoenix Medical Systems Equipment Support
- Handle installation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, user training, and service support for Phoenix neonatal and maternal equipment.
- Support products such as radiant warmers, phototherapy units, incubators, neonatal care equipment, and related accessories.
- Conduct product demonstrations and technical explanation to biomedical teams, nurses, doctors, and procurement teams.
- Prepare equipment before demo, installation, and customer training.
- Track spare parts, pending technical issues, service completion, and customer follow-up.
- Provide professional technical support that strengthens customer confidence in Remedic and Phoenix products.
Electrical Safety Testing / EST
- Conduct electrical safety testing using Rigel or equivalent biomedical safety analyzer.
- Perform testing according to proper biomedical safety standards and hospital requirements.
- Prepare accurate EST reports with pass/fail status, observations, recommendations, and corrective action if needed.
- Manage EST rental/service jobs with or without technician support.
- Ensure equipment is tested, documented, and returned in professional condition.
Technical Department Management
- Run the technical department with minimal daily supervision.
- Plan weekly hospital visits, service jobs, installations, demos, and follow-ups.
- Maintain a technical tracker covering repair status, service status, spare parts, customer feedback, reports, pending quotations, and revenue opportunities.
- Create clear weekly updates for management.
- Train and guide junior technicians when required.
- Build internal troubleshooting knowledge, service SOPs, and technical documentation.
- Make practical decisions in the field and escalate only when necessary.
- Customer Communication & Field Execution
- Approach biomedical teams, nurses, doctors, and hospital users confidently and professionally.
- Explain technical issues in simple, clear, and respectful language.
- Provide proactive customer updates without waiting for reminders.
- Represent Remedic professionally during hospital visits, demos, installations, service calls, and complaint handling.
- Build trust with hospital users through punctuality, clarity, proper reporting, and follow-through.
Revenue-Linked Technical Contribution
- Identify spare-part opportunities, repair opportunities, service contract opportunities, consumable opportunities, and preventive maintenance opportunities.
- Support sales by providing technical justification that helps close quotations.
- Understand the difference between cost, markup, margin, service charge, and customer value.
- Ensure every technical visit produces one or more clear outcomes: service completed, issue diagnosed, report submitted, opportunity identified, quote supported, customer trained, or next action locked.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on biomedical equipment service experience.
- Experience in endoscope repair, endoscope diagnosis, or endoscope service coordination is strongly preferred.
- Experience with neonatal equipment, phototherapy, radiant warmers, incubators, or hospital biomedical devices is an advantage.
- Ability to use Rigel or equivalent electrical safety analyzer is strongly preferred.
- Able to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, technical instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
- Able to prepare professional technical reports with photos, findings, recommendations, and next steps.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel for hospital visits, installations, demos, and service work.
- Good communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Additional languages are an advantage.

- Independent hospital visits completed.
- Technical reports submitted on time.
- Repair jobs diagnosed and followed through.
- Phoenix installation, demo, service, and training support completed.
- EST jobs completed with proper documentation.
- Customer feedback and communication quality.
- Spare-part, repair, service, or preventive maintenance opportunities identified.
- Technical revenue pipeline supported.
- Ability to operate without constant MD or sales involvement.
Weekly Output Expectations
The candidate should be able to achieve:
- Minimum 4 hospital/customer technical engagements per week.
- Minimum 2 independent visits per week.
- Minimum 2 technical opportunities identified per week.
- Minimum 2 technical reports submitted per week.
- Minimum 1 customer training, demo support, or technical briefing per week where applicable.
- Clear weekly technical tracker update to management.
What We Are Not Looking For
We are not looking for someone who:
- Waits for instructions before acting.
- Avoids customer communication.
- Gives long explanations without clear action.
- Only reports problems but does not solve them.
- Cannot manage follow-up.
- Cannot work independently in the field.
- Thinks technical work is separate from customer satisfaction and company revenue.
