The Senior Corporate Banking Business Architect plays a pivotal role in developing and maintaining the front-to-back business architecture that underpins the Bank's corporate, investment, and treasury businesses. This role requires a seasoned leader who can engage effectively with C-suite and senior executives, conduct in-depth assessments, and provide clear architecture recommendations that shape strategic decision-making.
As a key focus area, this role will define and steward the target state of the Bank's corporate banking architecture, leading modernization, modularization, and seamless integration of front, middle, and back-office platforms. It ensures consistency with enterprise standards, multi-jurisdiction regulatory requirements, and the Bank's strategic transformation programs. Serving as a bridge between business, technology, and delivery, the architect ensures modernization decisions are future-ready, secure, and interoperable across ASEAN markets.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Architecture Development:
- Define and maintain the Corporate Banking current and target state business architecture aligned to BIAN standards
- Identify opportunities to align technology and business strategies to improve client service, risk transparency, time-to-market, and operational efficiency.
- Experienced in Target Operating Model development for treasury, trade & supply-chain finance, cash management, and capital markets
Leadership in Corporate Banking Capabilities:
- Own the Corporate Banking target state architecture & lead stakeholder discussions to continuously align the roadmap.
- Translate front-to-back Corporate Banking capabilities () into architectural designs that support transformation.
- Maintain architecture roadmaps, capability heat-maps, and application rationalisation for the Corporate Banking segment.
- Effectively communicate architecture plans and strategies across business and technology stakeholders.
Governance and Standards Compliance:
- Ensure initiatives comply with applicable regulatory standards and align with enterprise-wide architectural standards.
- Govern the implementation of domain architecture standards and patterns across programs and projects.
Innovation and Research:
- Ensure solutions leverage next-gen enterprise capabilities (cloud, event-driven architecture, real-time risk, AI-enabled surveillance/insights).
- Stay abreast of industry trends in capital markets technology, treasury platforms, , and transaction banking.
- Produce research on future trends and potential business impacts.
EA & Regulatory Alignment:
- TOGAF 9.1/10, BIAN standards & Archimate
- MAS TRM (Singapore), BNM RMiT (Malaysia), OJK MRTI (Indonesia), BOT (Thailand), BSP (Philippines) – technology risk, outsourcing, cloud, and resilience expectations.
KPI / Success Measures Owned:
- Develop and maintain the Corporate Banking target state architecture, acting as the trusted Enterprise Architect for business and technology leaders to align all digital initiatives with Group strategy
- % of Corporate Banking transformation initiatives delivered against the target state roadmap.
- % of Architecture Review Board submissions approved with no high-risk exceptions.
- Increase in STP (straight-through-processing) rates and reduction in operational breaks across front-to-back flows.
- Reduction of legacy technical debt (% of platforms re-platformed/API-enabled decommissioning of redundant systems).
Job Requirements:
- Typically brings 15+ years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture, including at least 5 years leading Corporate Banking architecture within financial services.
- We are particularly interested in senior architects who have shaped front-to-back modernization, led large-scale transformations, and influenced C-suite decisions in these domains.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related discipline; Master's degree or professional chartered qualifications in Accounting, Banking, Finance, or Markets (CA, CB, CFA, CMT) are a strength.
- Demonstrated track record in Corporate Banking, markets/treasury platform modernization, transaction banking & trade digitalization, and large-scale business architecture initiatives aligned to enterprise transformation objectives.
- Understanding of industry trends and corporate banking vendor landscape
Desired Skills and Competencies:
- Demonstrated leadership presence and credibility to lead, influence, and shape architecture discussions with CxO and senior executive stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities; able to translate complex trading/treasury and transaction-banking challenges into clear architectural strategies.
- Proficiency in TOGAF or equivalent architectural frameworks; certifications in TOGAF and BIAN are highly preferred.
