Participate in design and review civil and infrastructure designs including construction camps, roads, drainage, utilities, and platforms, ensuring quality and compliance with project requirements.
Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications to meet project quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
Ensure technical compliance with relevant Malaysian and international standards.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coherent design delivery.
Undertake preliminary hydrological and hydraulic analysis for drainage systems including roadside drains, culverts, and detention ponds.
Prepare reports, submissions, and support approval processes.
Coordinate and integrate geological/geotechnical findings into civil designs.
Support and coordinate structural design elements such as retaining structures, foundations, and bridges.
Plan, program, and coordinate design tasks, managing design teams and ensuring quality control.
Prepare project schedules, progress reports, and coordinate with stakeholders including clients, authorities, and internal teams.
Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with internal QA/QC processes.
Provide technical input during tendering and construction phases.
Review contractor proposals, shop drawings, method statements, and temporary works to ensure adherence to design intent.
Maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, and approving authorities.
Assist in proposal development, technical presentations, and client relationship management.
Supervise and mentor junior engineers and drafters, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Build positive client relationships and contribute to proposals and project delivery.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree is an advantage).
Preferably registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) or progressing toward registration.
510 years experience in civil engineering with strong exposure to construction camps, roads, drainage, infrastructure design and planning.
Experience in hydropower design or construction is an added advantage.
Strong communication, coordination, and problemsolving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Be effective in managing client relationships and expectations (internal and external).
