Job Requirements- Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, particularly in M&E testing and commissioning works.
- Must have successfully completed at least two (2) data centre projects with a capacity of 50MW and above.
- Proven experience in managing Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities for large-scale M&E projects.
- Experience in data centre / mission-critical facilities projects is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, vendors, and project teams.
- Preferably a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) and/or member of MIEM.
Job Description / Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and manage all Testing & Commissioning (T&C) activities for M&E systems in data centre projects.
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, schedules, procedures, and ensure successful completion within project timelines.
- Review M&E design drawings, specifications, method statements, and commissioning requirements to ensure compliance with project standards.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of commissioning activities.
- Manage and oversee pre-functional checks, functional performance testing, integrated system testing (IST), and final commissioning activities.
- Conduct testing, performance verification, and troubleshooting of critical M&E systems including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, BMS, and control systems.
- Verify equipment installation, system readiness, and ensure all systems operate in accordance with design requirements and data centre standards.
- Lead data centre commissioning activities, including Level 1 to Level 5 testing, integrated testing, and client handover requirements.
- Identify technical issues, coordinate rectification works, and ensure timely resolution during commissioning stages.
- Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation including test reports, commissioning records, checklists, and handover documents.
- Ensure compliance with project quality standards, safety requirements, and data centre operational requirements throughout commissioning activities.
- Provide technical guidance and support to operations and maintenance teams during system handover and transition.
- Monitor commissioning progress, manpower resources, schedules, and overall T&C deliverables.
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and specialist vendors to ensure successful system testing and performance validation.
- Drive continuous improvement of commissioning processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the superior.
Preferred Experience:
- Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems including electrical systems, HVAC, BMS, controls, and mission-critical infrastructure.
- Experience in large-scale data centre commissioning (50MW and above) will be an added advantage.
