Our Client:
We have recently partnered with a US based MNC company that is a leading manufacturer of control valves. The company is expanding their supply chain team and looking for a senior commodity manager as part of their strategic growth.
Responsibility:
- Develop and execute sourcing and category strategies for electronic and semiconductor components (ICs, analog devices, connectors, PCBAs, etc.) to support manufacturing and business objectives
- Manage relationships and lead negotiations with key OEM suppliers (e.g. Texas Instruments, Analog Devices) and authorized electronic component distributors
- Own pricing strategies, contract terms, and annual negotiation processes with strategic suppliers
- Monitor global semiconductor and electronics market trends, supply/demand dynamics, allocation risk, and component end-of-life (EOL) status
- Ensure business continuity by identifying shortage and line-down risks, and developing risk mitigation and dual-sourcing strategies
- Drive cost reduction and cost containment initiatives across the electronics commodity
- Identify, evaluate, select, and qualify new suppliers and distributors
- Work closely with Design Engineering, Quality, and Operations on component selection, supplier qualification, and new product introduction (NPI)
- Develop and track supplier KPIs; manage supplier performance reviews and continuous improvement plans
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior commodity/sourcing team members, where applicable
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in semiconductor and electronic component sourcing/commodity management
- Strong background in electronic component distribution, including working with authorized distributors
- Direct experience managing relationships with major OEM suppliers.
- Proven track record in supplier negotiation, contract management, and driving cost reduction
- Strong market intelligence and analytical skills to track supply/demand, allocation, and pricing trends
- Experience managing supply continuity and risk mitigation within a manufacturing environment
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
