Role Description The Senior Consultant – Delay is a full-time, on-site role based in Petaling Jaya. This role focuses on analyzing project timelines, identifying delay events, and preparing clear, evidence-based delay analyses for use in claims, dispute resolution, and expert reports. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing project documentation and programs, reconstructing as-built schedules, assessing critical path impacts, and collaborating with project teams, legal advisors, and other consultants. The Senior Consultant – Delay contributes to dispute strategies, supports expert witness work, and prepares high-quality written reports and presentations for clients and tribunals. The role also involves mentoring junior team members, participating in internal knowledge sharing, and supporting business development activities where needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in delay analysis, including critical path method, retrospective and prospective delay assessments, and time-impact analysis.
  • Solid understanding of construction contracts (e.g., standard forms and bespoke agreements), claims preparation, and dispute resolution processes, including arbitration, litigation and adjudication.
  • Advanced analytical and research abilities, with proficiency in interpreting technical project documentation, schedules, and progress records.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured, and persuasive written advice and expert-style documentation.
  • Proficiency with planning and scheduling software (such as Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project) and strong general IT literacy (e.g., MS Office, data analysis tools).
  • Significant practical experience in construction project management, planning, or claims consulting, ideally within major infrastructure or building projects.
  • Relevant professional qualifications, such as a degree in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, or a related discipline; professional memberships (e.g., engineering or arbitration institutes) are an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines in a detailed, quality-focused environment.
  • High ethical standards, sound professional judgment, and a client-focused mindset.
  • This role is restricted to Malaysian nationals.
  • Candidates who can join immediately or within a short notice period will be preferred.
