About The Role
- To design, develop, and optimize scalable data infrastructure and pipelines, enabling efficient data processing, storage, and analysis to support data-driven decision-making and insights
- Work independently, be resourceful while also being a good team player
What You'll Do
- Building scalable systems / data pipelines, interfacing with various data sources (e.g. Kafka, RDBMS, REST endpoints, object storage services)
- Assist with reviewing and interpreting business and technical requirements with a focus on data objectives of the product
- Identify requirements and develop data delivery solutions
- Implement company policies on data access and data distribution
- Contribute to best practices around data management in an enterprise organization, including data modeling, DataOps, data catalog / discovery, data contracts
- Support members of various teams to determine database structural requirements by analyzing their applications and client operations
- Support fellow engineers on design and optimisation activities related to data storage / data processing to ensure high performance and cost efficiency
- Collaborate with highly talented engineers, while mentoring junior data engineers in their tasks as well as their career growth
- Support data flow processes end-to-end for projects and initiatives including troubleshooting of data quality issues, data model design, data consumption, and query performances
- Evaluate and implement best practices and new technologies to enhance data engineering capabilities
- Design and ship data platform tooling that provide excellent developer experience to data engineers, analysts and scientists
- Maintain multiple codebases, conduct code reviews or pair programming to ensure high-quality code
Requirements
What we're looking for:
- Familiarity with financial and banking products
- Demonstrated skills in good software engineering practices, especially DataOps
- Experience in building and shipping large-scale engineering products and/or infrastructure
- Experience in scalable data architecture, fault-tolerant data pipelines, and ensuring data quality
- Collaboration with a diverse set of engineers, data scientists and product managers
- Deep expertise in data engineering and data processing at scale. Bonus - having worked with data lake systems to enable exploration as well as machine learning model training, deployment and scoring at massive scale.
- Familiarity with data science techniques and frameworks
- Proficiency with a modern cloud stack (We use Alibaba Cloud) and programing languages such as Java and Python
