Overview
We're partnering with a well-established multinational organisation that is investing heavily in its global Data & AI capabilities and is looking to hire an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join its growing team in Malaysia.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and global stakeholders to build and enhance modern data platforms that power analytics and AI/ML initiatives across the business.
What you'll be doing
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms.
- Develop and optimise ETL/ELT workflows using modern cloud technologies.
- Build and maintain data models, data warehouses, and data marts for analytics.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across the platform.
- Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and business stakeholders.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
What we're looking for
- 3-5 years of experience in Data Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, DBT, SQL, and Python.
- Experience building cloud-based data platforms (Azure preferred).
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modelling, and ETL/ELT concepts.
- Experience optimising large-scale data pipelines and solving complex data challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, global environment.
Bonus points for experience with:
- Azure Data Lake, Snowpipe, Iceberg
- Terraform or Infrastructure as Code
- CI/CD for data platforms
- Databricks, Kafka, Airflow, Spark, Docker, or Kubernetes
