Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data & Finance Support Engineer to join our Service Recovery team (GIPS). The ideal candidate will have deep experience in ETL and Data Warehousing within a banking and finance environment, coupled with solid knowledge in general ledger (GL), MAS, GST, regulatory reporting, and business intelligence.

This role requires hands-on proficiency in SQL, Shell Scripting, Informatica, and Unix/Linux, and the ability to operate in a high availability 24x7 support environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide L2 support for ETL and Finance Data Warehouse platforms across AM, PB, and enterprise banking systems.

  • Analyze and resolve complex incidents and data issues in production systems involving GL, MAS, GST, and regulatory reporting.

  • Monitor batch processes and troubleshoot failures using tools like Control-M and Informatica.

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes to prevent recurrence.

  • Work collaboratively with development, infrastructure, and business teams to support data and reporting environments.

  • Support and maintain SQL scripts, shell scripts, and ETL jobs.

  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial and regulatory reports.

  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation for critical system support.

Technical Skills & Requirements (Mandatory):

  • 5+ years in application development or support in a Banking & Finance environment.

Hands-on experience in:
o Informatica ETL
o Oracle / MS SQL / MySQL
o Shell Scripting
o Unix/Linux and Windows platforms
o Batch scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M)
o AS400

  • Knowledge of Finance domain, especially GL, MAS reporting, GST, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Strong SQL skills and ability to optimize queries for performance.

  • Good to Have Skills:

  • Big Data technologies: Hadoop, Cloudera, Hive, Impala, HDFS, YARN, Sqoop, Oozie, HBase, Kafka, Spark/MapReduce

  • Reporting/BI tools: SAS, OBIEE, Qliksense, Power BI

  • Finance platforms/tools: OneSumX, SAP GL, Hyperion, BASEL

  • Campaign and Marketing Tech: Adobe Campaign, HCL Campaign, WebSphere

  • Data lineage, metadata, and analytics experience (e.g., Quantexa)
