Senior Data Scientist (Insurance)

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for business monitoring
• Analyse large healthcare and insurance claims data to identify trends, risks, and anomalies
• Develop SQL queries and data pipelines using Databricks/Spark or similar tools
• Build and maintain predictive models (regression, classification)
• Perform data exploration, feature engineering, and model evaluation
• Translate business needs into analytics and reporting solutions
• Provide insights to support cost optimisation and risk management
• Ensure data quality, governance, and proper documentation
• Present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Work closely with business and technical teams

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Actuarial Science, or related field
• Minimum 5 years experience in Data Science / BI / Advanced Analytics
• Strong skills in:
• SQL
• Power BI (DAX, data modelling, optimisation)
• Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
• Experience with Databricks / Spark / big data platforms preferred
• Strong knowledge of regression and classification modelling
• Must have experience with insurance or healthcare claims data
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

• Experience in fraud detection, risk modelling, or cost optimisation
• Knowledge of cloud, ETL, and data warehousing
• Familiar with Git and Agile environments
• Strong reporting and presentation skills
