Senior Database Administrator

Position: Database Administrator

Location: Kuala Lumpur

Description:

• Build/Configure Mongo RS and shard

• Build/Configure PostgreSQL database cluster and replication

• Fine-tune MongoDB configurations and server settings for performance improvement.

• Configure Barman server for new database cluster

• Install PostGIS/ pgAudit and other required extensions

• Responsible for the monitoring and uptime of all production databases.

• Estimate database capacities; develop methods for monitoring database capacity and usage.

• Lead efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing any need for downtime.

• Responsible for regular backups and recovery of databases.

• Responsible for regular maintenance on databases (e.g., Vacuum, Reindexing, Archiving).

• Design and implement DR plans & HA solutions and recommendations.

• Work closely with the application team to understand what changes are coming in a build/patch/hotfix, do an impact analysis, and fine-tune the queries if any.

• Good DBA Experience and knowledge in MongoDB, MongoDB Atlas or PostgreSQL

• Good knowledge of Docker, Replication, Sharding, Ops Manager

• Experience in MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL DB upgrade.

• Having experience in managing PostgreSQL on Cloud (PAAS/IAAS) is an added advantage.

• Having experience in managing PostgreSQL via Docker/Container is an added advantage.

• Understanding of enterprise application technology architecture, components, databases, networking, and infrastructure as code

• Write efficient queries.

• Strong scripting experience - Unix/Shell Scripting, Python

• Technical knowledge of Linux & Windows-based platform.
