Requirements :
DBA, looking for candidates with extensive understanding / Knowledge and solid hands-on experience and exposure specifically in MS SQL Server version 2016 / 2019 & moving forward into MS SQL Server 2022/ upwards.
Job Role :
- Strong understanding of SQL Server (multiple versions from 2005 2008 2012 2016 2019/2022).
- Ability to administer, manage, maintain, configure, and strengthen SQL Server databases end-to-end.
- Experience with database security, hardening, user access control, and permission management.
- Ability to monitor database performance (CPU, memory, storage, read/write performance).
- Knowledge of storage management, data file expansion, file placement, and SQL Server best practices.
- Ability to deploy patches, manage backups, and automate maintenance jobs.
- Experience with SQL Server Agent jobs (create, monitor, troubleshoot, automate repeatable tasks).
- Understanding of disaster recovery planning (failover, recovery strategies, backups/restore procedures).
- Ability to read, interpret, and work with SQL Server audits and log monitoring.
- Familiarity with legacy systems and handling multi-hospital distributed database environments.
- Must be able to work independently as a dedicated DBA, not just L1/L2/L3 support.
- Should understand SQL Server in a complete, end-to-end perspective, not just backup/restore tasks.
- Should handle database performance optimization and proactive monitoring.
- Manage access for on-site support teams and track user activities via logs/audits.
- Ensure security, hardening & compliance to prevent attacks (SQL injection, unauthorized access).
- Handle server migration to newer SQL versions in the future (18–24 months).
Good To have Skills :
- Experience with PowerShell / shell scripting for automation and performance monitoring.
- Ability to recommend or leverage tools for performance monitoring, storage monitoring, and system health.
- Knowledge of ETL processes is useful but not the current priority.
- Exposure to multi-site database management (hospital environment preferred).
