About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager – Architecture to lead and manage architectural design delivery for large-scale Data Centre projects. This role requires a strong balance between technical design expertise and site coordination, ensuring design intent is effectively translated into construction execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the architectural design process from concept through to construction stage for Data Centre projects.
- Coordinate closely with consultants, clients, and internal teams to ensure design compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Review and validate architectural drawings, specifications, and technical submissions to ensure buildability and technical accuracy.
- Act as the key interface between design and site teams, ensuring smooth coordination and timely resolution of design-related issues.
- Provide technical guidance on architectural detailing, materials, and construction methodologies.
- Manage and coordinate design changes, RFIs, and value engineering initiatives.
- Ensure all designs comply with authority requirements, building regulations, and Data Centre standards (e.g., high availability, redundancy, and operational efficiency).
- Support project teams during construction to resolve site coordination issues and clashes.
- Drive coordination with M&E, C&S, and BIM teams to ensure integrated design delivery.
- Monitor design progress and ensure timely submission in line with project schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or equivalent.
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in architectural design and coordination within the construction industry.
- Proven experience working on Data Centre or mission-critical projects is highly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge in architectural detailing, materials, and construction practices.
- Hands-on experience in site coordination and resolving design issues during construction stage.
- Familiar with local authority requirements and submission processes in Malaysia.
- Proficiency in BIM tools (e.g., Revit), AutoCAD, and design coordination platforms.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
