The Role

Join a European technology leader as we establish our new hub in Malaysia. We are looking for a Senior Developer to lead our local team in a hands-on role that combines high-level technical development with 24/7 operational ownership. You will lead a team of 6+ to ensure our follow-the-sun model is successful, managing and participating in on-call rotations while actively working on our products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Building & Hiring: Lead the technical recruitment process for the Malaysia hub, conducting interviews and ensuring cultural and technical alignment.
  • On-Call Leadership: Manage, schedule, and participate in 24/7 on-call rotations, acting as the technical lead for critical escalations.
  • Global Handover: Lead daily syncs between European and Malaysian teams to ensure seamless follow-the-sun transitions.
  • Product Development: Contribute to the end-to-end development of new features and modules using .NET 10.
  • Team Management: Foster a culture of ownership, ensuring the team is ready for support shifts while maintaining development progress.
  • Defensive Engineering: Use insights from support cases to build more robust systems.
  • Post-Mortem Ownership: Facilitate Blameless Post-Mortems for major incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and permanent fixes are prioritized.
  • Observability: Architect systems to be self-healing and highly observable using Grafana and OpenTelemetry.
  • Technical Scoping: Partner with sales for technical scoping and feasibility checks for new customer integrations.
  • Company policies: Drive company culture

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of professional experience in .NET (C#) and Azure.
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical teams in a professional setting.
  • Deep knowledge of high-load, high-availability systems.
  • Exceptional English communication skills.
  • Willingness to participate in a 24/7 stand-by/shift rotation.
  • Work Authorization: Must have the legal right to work in Malaysia at the time of application (we cannot provide visa sponsorship for this location).

  • Successfully launched the Malaysia hub with a stabilized, high-performing team.
  • Implemented a seamless 24/7 handover process between Malaysia and European HQ.
  • Measurable reduction in recurring support tickets through self-healing code improvements.
