Senior Developer (Payment & Remittance)

Duration: 24 months contract

Working Location: Kuala Lumpur

Working schedule: Rotational shift - Open to work in shift

Salary: Up to RM 15000 (based on skill and experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer with 6–9 years of hands-on experience in Core Banking systems, specifically in Payments and Remittance modules. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AS400 RPG development and a solid understanding of banking operations, system integrations, and payment processing workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications related to Remittance and Payments systems in a Core Banking environment
• Work extensively with AS400 / IBM i platform using RPG (RPG III / RPG IV / ILE RPG)
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Support system enhancements, troubleshooting, and production issue resolution
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams
• Participate in system integration activities with internal and external banking systems
• Ensure code quality, performance optimization, and adherence to development standards
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers

Key Requirements

• 6–9 years of development experience in Core Banking systems
• Strong proficiency in AS400 (IBM i) and RPG programming
• Solid experience in Remittance and Payment systems within banking domain
• Good understanding of banking workflows, transaction processing, and financial systems
• Experience in system integration and working with legacy systems
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CL programming, DB2/400, and related AS400 tools
• Familiarity with SWIFT, ISO payments, or other financial messaging standards
• Prior experience in Core Banking platforms (e.g., Temenos, Finacle, Murex, etc.) is an advantage
• Knowledge of modern integration or API frameworks is a plus
