Key Purpose
The role of a Team Lead is to support the Debt Markets Department (Debt Markets) in delivering
value add advisory and structuring solutions to clients/customers across Debt Markets product areas such as bridging financing (via Islamic term financing facility and/or conventional loan facility), bank guarantee facility (via Islamic and/or conventional principle), syndicated term loan/financing and issuance of corporate bonds/Sukuk, as well as debt restructuring exercises. This role's primary responsibility is to support the Head of Debt Markets in meeting the department's budget by leading and managing its team members to identify, originate, develop and structure investment banking solutions for clients/customers in undertaking deal transactions. Task also includes assisting the Head of Debt Markets in any operational matters of the department, where required.
Key Accountabilities
- Actively marketing for Debt Markets advisory and fund raising services and develop clientele base, according to the business plan, as well as cross selling products and services offered by the Group.
- Lead, manage and execute the assignments independently and in a timely manner. Being able to troubleshoot and resolve potential issues.
- Manage, train and develop team members to ensure they are able to support the department in executing the transactions relating to all products and services offered by Debt Markets.
- Deep understanding of and ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements relevant to Debt Markets transactions and maintain close working relationship with the relevant authorities (such as the Securities Commission Malaysia, Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad, Bank Negara Malaysia).
- Maintain close working relationship with the other professionals such as Auditors and Reporting Accountants, Solicitors, Market Researchers, Professional Valuers, Registrars, Issuing Houses, Company Secretaries.
- Undertake any other tasks as may be required/assigned by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and/or Deputy CEO and the Board of Directors.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or other relevant professional qualification.
- Capital Markets and Services Representative's License (CMSRL) from the Securities Commission
- Credit Certification from the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) or equivalent will have an added advantage.
Experience
- 12 - 15 years of working experience in financial and/or banking industry.
- At least 12 years of working experience in a Debt Markets and/or Corporate Banking departments of a banking group.
- Experience in Investment Banking, Debt Capital Market, Structured Finance, Project Finance, Corporate Banking, Islamic Debt Capital Market, Loans Syndication, Credit Rating or related field.
- Strong structuring and credit analysis skills and proficient in financial modelling.
- Good interpersonal skills and general management skills.
- Strong client relationship and networking for constant deal sourcing.
