The Senior Drilling Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support to drilling operations planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering planning, design, surveillance, and follow-up as required for the safe and efficient execution of rig mobilization/demobilization, well drilling and completion programs.
- Ensure program objectives are met while assuring the highest standards of engineering integrity, safety, and environmental protection are applied.
- Provide technical expertise on drilling engineering to the Operations and Production teams.
- Work closely with the Drilling Superintendent, Drilling Supervisors, Procurement and Logistics team in the execution phase of drilling operations.
- Plan and conduct DWOP/CWOP and Pre-Spud Meetings for drilling operations.
- Be familiar with and ensure all regulatory requirements and guidelines are followed.
- Prepare well AFEs, monitor daily drilling costs, benchmark performance and ensure accurate cost reporting and allocation.
- Conduct risk review, interface management and contingency planning of well plans.
Requirements:
- Qualification: Degree in engineering
- Minimum 8 years of related experience in Drilling Engineering and offshore drilling operations support
- Experience with jackup rig operations
- Have completed IWCF or IADC (supervisor level) well control training
- Competent in English, MS Office, drilling engineering software ie Landmark Well Plan and Open Well or equivalent.
