About the Role
A leading engineering consultancy with a strong track record in building services and mission-critical facilities, is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their expanding design team. This role combines deep technical design expertise with leadership responsibilities to ensure high-quality project delivery.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and coordination of electrical systems, including HV/LV distribution (up to 132kV), UPS, standby generators, lighting, lightning protection, earthing, and ELV systems.
- Perform detailed electrical calculations such as MD/TCL, voltage drop, cable sizing, soil resistivity, and redundancy assessments.
- Prepare and review design documentation: specifications, drawings, reports, and technical submissions.
- Develop and manage tender documents, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and cost estimations.
- Involve providing technical guidance and ensuring design quality to clients/project team.
- Coordinate effectively with mechanical and other MEP disciplines to deliver fully integrated solutions.
- Support value engineering, tender evaluations, and technical review processes.
- Engage directly with clients, consultants, and contractors in design and coordination meetings.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and provide technical support during construction phases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5-7 years of proven experience in electrical design engineering; data centre project experience would be an added value.
- Strong expertise in hands-on electrical design for HV/MV up to 132kV, including redundancy planning and detailed calculations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design tools.
- Strong understanding of tender processes, BQ preparation, and cost estimation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage deliverables, and engage with clients.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
