Senior Electrical Engineer (BESS)

Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Electrical Engineer to design, implement, and optimize Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions for industrial and commercial facilities. The role focuses on peak shaving, load shifting, and data-driven energy cost reduction, leveraging high-frequency energy data to develop customized solutions for each client.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze high-resolution energy data (V, A, kW, kWh, PF, Hz) to identify:

- Peak demand patterns

- Load shifting opportunities

- Inefficiencies in energy usage

• Design BESS systems for peak shaving and load shifting applications
• Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and utility interconnection requirements
• Work with vendors and contractors on equipment sizing and site installation
• Utilize energy monitoring platforms to track system performance and validate savings
• Support proposal development

Requirements

• Practical experience in power distribution systems and BESS projects
• Ability to translate data into actionable engineering decisions
• Experience with:

- IoT energy platforms

- Modbus / industrial communication protocols

• Good communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Registered Professional Engineer is a plus
