Key Duties
The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible in assisting project electrical system design and development including selection of optimal power distribution systems and equipment, and support the on time/on budget delivery of projects, whilst meeting all safety, environmental, energy and quality objectives.
- Designing for projects, and work with other disciplines to assure the project design is complete and accurate
- Responsibility for the quality and accuracy of work submitted to clients for electrical design
- Support project management including providing inputs for project deliverables, request for information and presentation meetings with clients
- Plan the work, track and report the work progress for projects
- Ensure deliverables meet the scope and client expectations and requirements
- Coordination and verification of project deliverables with the MEP team and draughtsman
- Checking and reviewing deliverables with MEP Manager and Project Manager
- Support procurement activities, including review, selection and coordination with vendors drawing
- Utilize designcodes, client standards, industry guidelines standardsand follow established design criteria
- Identify and resolve client design challenges, open issues or conflicting information on projects
- Identify project opportunities, assist in preparing project proposals, and following up with customers
- Track hours used to execute project tasks, review projects schedules, and complete efforts within allowed budget and schedule
- Seconded services to customer projects if deemed necessary
- Attend site inspection work as required
Key requirements
- Minimum BSc. in Electrical Engineering with 6 years related experience or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 10 years related experience
- Extensive experience in electrical power system designs including establishing power system distribution & protection parameters, power cable & equipment sizing calculations and specifications
- Experience in performing and completing electrical power system calculations, including but not limited to power flow, short circuit, system stability, grounding grid and lighting lux level calculations
- Knowledge of emergency and essential power system requirements
- In-depth knowledge of international codes and standards such as IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, and others as applicable such as GMP requirements, local country codes and standards
- In-depth knowledge of electrical power system calculation software such as ETAP, SKM, etc.
- Knowledge and experiences of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical/life science industry is a plus
- Comfortable working alone or in a team environment, maintain a positive and professional relationships with co-workers and management and able to coach junior staff on technical questions
- Possess excellent communication skills and be able to successfully interact with clients on global projects
- Project management, multidisciplinary coordination and supervisorial experience
- Excellent planning and organization skills
