JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Engineer (Civil & Structural) is responsible for developing, reviewing, and validating civil and structural engineering designs for Large Scale Solar (LSS) projects. This includes foundations, mounting structures, drainage systems, and supporting infrastructure to ensure safety, durability, and compliance with regulatory and industry standards. The role requires expertise in structural analysis, geotechnical considerations, and large-scale project execution to support Cypark's renewable energy development goals. The role acts as Cypark's technical focal point for civil and structural matters across pre-tender, consultant-led, and EPCC projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Pre-Tender & Feasibility Engineering
- Prepare preliminary and conceptual C&S designs to support feasibility studies, cost estimates, and tender submissions.
- Develop design basis assumptions, preliminary calculations, and technical inputs for structural works, soil investigation and geotechnical.
2. Design Governance
- Review, coordinate, and approve detailed C&S designs prepared by consultants and EPC contractors on behalf of Cypark.
- Ensure alignment with tender assumptions, cost models, and statutory requirements (MS, BS, Eurocode, UBBL).
- Drive value engineering and constructability optimisation while safeguarding safety and long-term performance.
3. EPCC Engineering & Construction Support
- Provide hands-on C&S engineering support when Cypark acts as EPCC, including design checks, subcontractor coordination, and site issue resolution.
- Support construction through design clarifications, site inspections, and technical decision-making.
4. Compliance, Authorities & Documentation
- Support authority submissions and approvals, directly or via consultants.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready design documentation and records.
5. Technical Leadership
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to standardisation, best practices, and continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: Experience: Minimum 710 years of civil & structural engineering experience. Experience in renewable energy or Large-Scale Solar (LSS) projects is as added advantage.
- Professional Engineer (Ir.) registration with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is an added advantage.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proven proficiency in foundation and structural design.
- Skilled in structural design software such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
- Deep knowledge of Malaysian construction standards (MS, BS, Eurocode, UBBL).
- Core Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent project management skills, and effective cross-disciplinary communication.
- Other: Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
