Job Description

The goal is to enhance the HAMR Glass media cleaning process for both current and new products by focusing on improvements in quality, cost, and production rate (PPH). This includes ensuring a smooth transition for new products from GO, establishing quality indicators for the cleaning process, and acquiring and qualifying a new cleaning system for mass production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Continuous effort to develop/improve the cleaning process for HAMR Glass to meet the organization's goals and objectives for current and future new products.
  • Execute and qualify new cleaning materials such as filters, chemicals, and brushes for the cleaning machine to align with the company's goal of having 2nd source for all materials.
  • Work closely with the GO R&D team on the new cleaning process and ensure seamless product transfer to PN media.
  • Execute cleaning machine pph and utilization improvement activities to meet sputter pph and product demand.
  • Develop a new cleaning process in PN for new products that are introduced for mass manufacturing, because this machine is not available in GO.
  • Focus on the latest Ultrasonic and Megasonic cleaning technology to tap the opportunities to introduce new sonication technology into current cleaning tools to improve cleaning efficiency.
  • Align cleaning improvement activities with Manufacturing Engineering team objectives of sustaining and improving media yield and quality.
  • Execute cleaning cost-saving activities to meet the company's CPD target.
  • Sustain the cleaning process by sustaining in process indicators such as chemical concentration and media cleanliness particle counts.
  • White paper, technical report, and documentation (SMO, TECN & PECN) write-up to ensure a smooth implementation of the new cleaning process following the ISO14000, ISO9000, OHSAS 18001 procedure.
  • Leading Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) for the cleaning process and executing improvement actions to improve the robustness of the cleaning process for manufacturing.
  • Work with the substrate team ( SWK ) (Front End NPP substrate team) to qualify new HAMR Glass substrate or improve substrate quality at the media level.
  • Continue to build up technicians technical capability pertaining to cleaning process.
  • Set up auto shutdown fixture to prevent the cleaning machine from producing bad quality parts.

  • Preparing and updating Weekly Asia Cleaning Team Activities progress report.
  • Follow all safety and health rules and contamination control.
  • Conduct technical sharing on the topics related to media cleaning.
  • Work with EHS team to set up a safety feature to prevent any accident in the work place.
  • Work with vendors/suppliers for new process and new materials development.
  • Work with procurement/SQE team for cleaning material quality improvement and inventory control.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Degree in Chemical/ Chemical Engineering / Material Science Engineering or Physics.

PREFERRED:

  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in process or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge on HDD media cleaning technology will be added advantage.
  • Knowledge in SPC, FMEA, Technical Report Writing and DOE run.
  • Green Belt or Lean Six Sigma will be and added advantages.

SKILLS:

  • Good technical presentation skill.
  • Good communication skill.
