REPORTING TO: HEAD OF OPERATIONS OF CITAGLOBAL POWERGEN SDN BHD
JOB PURPOSE : To drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding market presence, supporting tender and proposal submissions, and building strong relationships with clients in power generation, oil & gas, marine, industrial, and related sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Growth & Market Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in target sectors (O&G, marine, utilities, manufacturing, EPC contractors, etc.).
- Analyse market trends, customer requirements, and competitive activities to support strategic planning.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline and update
- Support diversification into new segments such as Zone 2 equipment, rental solutions, EPC/EPCC, hybrid systems, and energy transition initiatives.
2. Sales & Revenue Generation
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets set by management.
- Drive customer acquisition and secure new contracts, service agreements, and rental projects.
- Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, and pricing strategies in collaboration with technical and operations teams.
- Conduct sales presentations, product briefings, and negotiation meetings with clients.
3. Tender & Proposal Management
- Manage RFQ/RFP processes including documentation, company profiles, compliance forms, and technical-commercial submissions.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, procurement, and finance to ensure accurate tender preparation.
- Monitor tender portals, client announcements, and market intelligence for new opportunities.
- Ensure timely and high-quality proposal submissions to maximize win probability.
4. Client Relationship Management
- Establish strong relationships with key clients (e.g., PETRONAS group, Carigali Hess, PIPC operators, EPCC contractors, OSV/marine companies).
- Conduct regular visits, follow-ups, technical discussions, and after-sales support.
- Address customer concerns promptly and ensure smooth communication between clients and internal teams.
- Support contract handover from BD to Operations to ensure flawless project execution.
5. Internal Coordination & Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, pipeline forecasts, and business updates for management.
- Work closely with Operations, Technical, Finance, and Procurement teams to align commercial strategies.
- Contribute to development of SOPs, sales tools, marketing materials, and presentation decks.
- Participate in exhibitions, customer events, and marketing activities representing company
Job Requirements
Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 37 years experience in Business Development, Sales, or Commercial roles.
- Preferably in power generation, oil & gas, marine, industrial equipment, electrical systems, or engineering services.
Knowledge:
- Electrical and mechanical principles related to power generation systems.
- Familiarity with genset operation, load testing and commissioning procedures.
- Understanding of safety regulations and industry standards for electrical and mechanical installations.
Skills:
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Good understanding of power generation systems, generators, rental equipment, or technical solutioning (advantage).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
