Job Brief
The Senior Executive, Credit Control is responsible for managing premium collections, monitoring outstanding balances, ensuring compliance with credit control policies, and minimizing credit risk within the General Insurance business. The role works closely with agents, brokers, corporate clients, Finance, Underwriting, and Operations teams to ensure timely premium collection and accurate receivables management.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage outstanding premium receivables from agents, brokers, intermediaries, and corporate clients.
- Ensure timely collection of insurance premiums in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Follow up on overdue accounts through calls, emails, and meetings with stakeholders.
- Review aging reports and prioritize collection efforts for high-risk accounts.
- Negotiate payment arrangements and monitor adherence to agreed payment schedules.
- Escalate long-outstanding debts and recommend appropriate recovery actions.
- Monitor unreconciled transactions and ensure timely resolution.
- Support audit requirements by maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls and collection efficiency.
- Supervise and guide credit control junior executives or officers in daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in system enhancement testing and implementation related to billing and collections.
Job Requirements
Education/Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience in credit control, collections, or accounts receivable.
- Experience in managing corporate or reinsurance, general insurance-related collections is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/SAP systems.
