Senior Executive, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)

Job Purpose

To support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with legal requirements, corporate standards, and industry best practices while promoting a safe, healthy, and environmentally sustainable workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Safety Management

• Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and programs across the site.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections, safety audits, and compliance assessments.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions, and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Facilitate risk assessments (HIRARC/JSA) and recommend suitable control measures.
• Support Permit-to-Work (PTW), contractor safety management, and project safety activities.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including fire drills and ERT programs.
• Monitor PPE compliance and recommend improvements.

Environmental Management

• Ensure compliance with Environmental Quality Act (EQA) requirements and applicable environmental regulations.
• Monitor waste management, scheduled waste handling, emissions, wastewater, and environmental performance.
• Support environmental inspections, audits, and regulatory submissions.
• Drive sustainability, ESG, energy management, and resource conservation initiatives.

Health & Occupational Hygiene

• Support occupational health programs, including medical surveillance, industrial hygiene monitoring, ergonomics, and health promotion activities.
• Coordinate workplace exposure monitoring (noise, LEV, IAQ, chemical exposure, etc.).
• Assist in managing employee health and wellbeing initiatives.

Compliance & Management Systems

• Maintain EHS documentation, records, permits, and licenses.
• Support ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, and other management system requirements.
• Participate in internal and external audits and ensure effective closure of findings.
• Monitor legal compliance and keep abreast of regulatory updates.

Training & Awareness

• Conduct EHS inductions, toolbox talks, awareness programs, and campaigns.
• Support EHS Committee activities and promote a positive safety culture.
• Prepare EHS reports, presentations, and performance dashboards.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, or industrial environments.
• Experience in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Experience in incident investigation, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.

Certification

Preferred (not mandatory):

• DOSH Green Book (Registered Safety & Health Officer - SHO).
• Certified Environmental Professional (CePSWaM, CePIETSO, CePSO, etc.).
• Internal Auditor certification for ISO Management Systems.
