Job Description

As Senior Executive, Business Development (Malaysia), you will play a key role in supporting Motul's growth across Malaysia by expanding distributor and dealer networks, strengthening market coverage, and driving sales performance. Working closely with internal stakeholders and distributors, you will contribute to market penetration initiatives, channel development, and customer acquisition efforts within assigned territories.

With your hands-on sales experience and understanding of the automotive industry, you will actively identify business opportunities, execute go-to-market initiatives, and build strong commercial relationships that support the continued growth of Motul Malaysia.

Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Support new business acquisition by identifying, approaching, and onboarding new distributors, dealers, and selected industrial accounts.
  • Drive market coverage expansion in assigned territories through proactive prospecting and deal execution.
  • Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets in line with business objectives.
  • Assist in pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and trading terms to support revenue and profitability goals.

Market Expansion

  • Execute go-to-market and market penetration initiatives to grow presence in underserved or high-potential areas.
  • Conduct regular market intelligence and competitor tracking to identify growth opportunities.
  • Work with distributors to optimise product placement, visibility, and promotions to drive sell-in and sell-out performance.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with distributors, dealers, and key customers to support long-term partnerships.
  • Respond promptly to distributor and customer needs, resolving issues effectively to ensure satisfaction and business continuity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. supply chain, marketing, finance) to support order fulfilment, pricing execution, and promotional activities.

Sales Tracking & Reporting

  • Track sales pipelines, conversion progress, and revenue performance for assigned accounts and territories.
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and market updates for management review.
  • Monitor key sales KPIs, identify gaps, and propose actions to improve performance.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales, business development, or channel/distributor management.
  • Exposure to automotive lubricants, automotive aftermarket, industrial chemicals, or FMCG would be an advantage.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve sales targets and contribute to market expansion initiatives.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to engage distributors and customers.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel across Malaysia as required.
