Role Overview
You will support the Legal & Company Secretarial function by providing legal advisory, managing contracts and litigation matters, and assisting in company secretarial duties. The role works closely with internal stakeholders, subsidiaries, and external solicitors to safeguard the Company's legal interests.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Contracts
- Provide timely and practical legal advice on contracts, commercial matters, and regulatory compliance.
- Review and draft a wide range of legal documents, including: Procurement and customer contracts / Sub-lease and tenancy agreements / Novation and settlement agreements.
- Performance & warranty bonds, approval memos, and legal correspondences.
- Support negotiations to achieve commercially sound and legally robust outcomes.
Company Secretarial
- Prepare and review board papers, committee papers, resolutions, and minutes.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements.
Litigation & Claims Management
- Support litigation matters (contentious and non-contentious).
- Liaise with and monitor appointed external solicitors.
- Manage claims initiated by or against the Company in coordination with internal departments.
Property & Business Support
- Handle property-related legal matters and provide first-level legal advice to protect business interests.
- Work closely with Procurement, Operations, Engineering, HCM, and other departments.
IT Policies & Information Security
- Support the implementation and compliance of Information Security (IS) and IT-related policies.
- Safeguard organizational information, assets, and intellectual property.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB).
- Admission to the Bar.
- 37 years of experience as a Legal Practitioner and/or In-house Legal Counsel.
- Experience in a regulated, operational, or corporate environment is an advantage.

- Excellent written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
