Job Summary
- Support the Head of Department in managing and coordinating Parliamentary matters related to in communications and multimedia. The role ensures accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of parliamentary responses and facilitates effective engagement with Members of Parliament, the Ministry, and relevant stakeholders. It contributes to strengthening awareness and understanding of Government initiatives, advancing the National Policy Objectives as outlined in the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (CMA98).
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the preparation of Parliamentary questions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with MCMC's objectives.
- Review and checking responses from internal departments/divisions to ensure clarity, accuracy and consistency.
- Liaise and collaborate with officers from the Ministry and to finalize and refine Parliamentary responses.
- Oversee the maintenance of the Parliamentary database (Portal Pintar Parlimen) to ensure completeness, accuracy, and up-to-date records.
- Analyze and anticipate potential issues or trends from Parliamentary questions to prepare forecast questions and improve responses.
- Conduct research and analysis on emerging topics in communications and multimedia to strengthen the quality of responses.
- Coordinate and participate in Parliamentary sittings, briefings, and meetings, representing the Departments/Divisions as required.
- Monitor and report on the progress and timeliness of submissions to ensure compliance with Parliamentary schedules and standards.
- Support stakeholder engagement by facilitating communication with Members of Parliament and providing necessary clarifications on relevant issues.
- Perform other related duties to support departmental goals and contribute to the effectiveness of MCMC's communication with Members of Parliament.
Qualification & Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Law or any related field from the recognized university with minimum of CGPA 3.00
- At least 4 - 5 years experience involving government relations, inter-agency affairs and management of information/data.
