Job Purpose
You will undertake the Shariah Centre of Excellence functions to serve Shariah Committee of Etiqa Family and General Takaful in accordance with Shariah Governance Policy Document (SGPD) of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). Ultimately, this function shall assist EFTB and EGTB to ensure that their aims and operations, business, affairs and activities are in compliance with Shariah at all times (Section 28, IFSA 2013)
Job Responsibilities
- You will execute initiatives towards promoting and championing EFTB / EGTB as the leader and the most prominent Takaful operator by way of Shariah strategic planning program and activities.
- You will determine and promote the best practices and standards and set the benchmark for all Takaful operators by way of Shariah strategic planning programs and activities to staff, agents and stakeholders, both local and international, including but not limited to certification programs, Industrial forum/talks, sharing sessions. shariah motivational programs, etc.
- You will coordinate with relevant institutions and organizations in promoting Takaful and branding.
- You must be able to develop comprehensive training materials, modules, and resources specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of the Takaful industry, ensuring alignment with Shariah principles and operational requirements.
- You must be able to conduct awareness and capacity-building workshops to enhance understanding of Shariah compliance within Takaful operations and implement any other tasks as instructed by Head, Shariah Management from time to time.
Job Requirements
- You must possess a bachelor's degree in Islamic finance or its equivalent would be an added advantage.
- You must have at least 5 - 7 years of working experience in Shariah related functions from financial services industry.
- You must exceptional presentation skills in facilitating training sessions to engage participants effectively.
- You must have strong communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills to enable further success in this role.
- You must be willing to travel within and outside the Klang Valley to engage with stakeholders at branches, etc.
- You must have passion for promoting Shariah-compliant practices and contributing to the excellence of Takaful operations.
