A. Job Purpose
The Senior Executive, Social Media & Communications is responsible for planning, developing and executing integrated marketing communications that strengthen the Nexus brand, support learner recruitment and engagement, and deliver a consistent brand experience across all communication channels. The role manages social media, print and digital media, while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver marketing initiatives aligned with the school's strategic priorities.
B. Key Responsibilities
1. Social Media & Content
- Drive the school's social media presence and engagement across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and emerging digital channels.
- Plan, create, write, schedule and publish engaging & optimised content across all social media & digital platforms.
- Identify storytelling opportunities and maintain brand consistency through copy, photography, video, Reels and other suitable formats.
- Monitor social media performance, analyse insights and recommend improvements based on performance data.
- Manage social media enquiries and community engagement.
- Act as first point of contact for crisis communication on social/digital channels, escalating to the Marketing Manager per the school's crisis communication protocol.
- Stay current with social media trends, AI tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity, creativity and content effectiveness.
2. Campaigns & Collateral
- Execute integrated marketing communication campaigns that support enrolment objectives, strengthen brand awareness and align with the school's strategic priorities.
- Coordinate the development, production and distribution of digital and printed marketing materials, including advertisements, brochures, school touchpoints, internal branding, promotional merchandise and other collateral.
- Manage creative production by coordinating graphic designers, creative agencies, printers, photographers and videographers to ensure timely delivery and compliance with brand guidelines.
3. Events & Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate, support and attend internal and external marketing events, including Open Days, webinars, education fairs and promotional activities.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (Admissions, Academic teams, Leadership, Admin team) and external partners/vendors to align marketing initiatives with school priorities.
- Support other marketing communications initiatives and projects as assigned.
C. Job Specification
Minimum Academic / Professional Qualification
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing or a related discipline.
Related Experience
- At least 3–5 years of working experience in marketing, communications, social media, digital marketing or related fields.
- Experience using Meta Business Suite, Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, CRM platforms (e.g. HubSpot), SEO tools and content management systems is an advantage.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Demonstrates strong planning, organisation and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and take ownership of projects from planning through execution.
- Produces accurate, brand-compliant and well-proofread content with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent command of English, written and verbal; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and/or Mandarin is required given the school's parent and community demographic.
- Creative, resourceful, customer-focused and self-motivated.
