Job Description

The Senior Executive, Tax supports the Tax Manager in managing the Group's corporate income tax compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring timely filings, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination with external tax agents and authorities. The role is an all-rounded position that also supports indirect tax matters, tax audits, tax incentives, transfer pricing documentation, Global Minimum Tax initiatives, tax governance exercises, and administrative and ad-hoc tax and finance-related tasks, contributing to effective tax management across the Group.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist in monitoring the timely filing of tax returns for Malaysia, Brunei, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Vietnam, Barbados and Australia;
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with tax regulations (both direct and indirect taxes) for Brunei, Netherlands, and Corporate Office entities;
  • Assist in preparing Brunei corporate tax computation for estimated chargeable tax, annual tax filing, monthly and quarterly;
  • Assist in reviewing provisional tax computations for revised estimates for Corporate Office entities;
  • Assist in filtering the collating information required by external tax agent for the corporate income tax matters;
  • Assist in providing advice on matters such as corporate income tax, withholding tax, service tax, imported service tax, employment tax, stamp duty and e-invoicing as needed;
  • Assist in tax credit refund application;
  • Assist in the application of relevant tax incentives;
  • Assist in coordinating tax audit requirement, including collating any information requested by the IRB;
  • Assist in preparing and collating transfer pricing information for submission to tax consultants;
  • Assist in Tax Corporate Governance Framework exercise;
  • Assist in managing Global Minimum Tax for the Hibiscus Group (when applicable);
  • Assist in administrative matters, including engagement letters and invoice; and
  • Assist in organizing internal meetings, seminars, trainings and presentations related to tax.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in relevant tax or accounting professional qualification from a recognized university or professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, MICPA etc.).
  • At least 4 to 6 years of relevant working experience in the tax industry.
  • Possess good understanding of tax technical knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with positive and proactive attitude.
  • Self-motivated and high attention to details and the ability to work independently.
  • Assertive and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Maintain professional relationships with co-workers, peers, superiors, consultants, clients and relevant authorities regarding work matters.
