Company: A leading high-technology manufacturing company

Location: Serendah Industrial Park, Malaysia (Open to someone who is willing to relocate from other Malaysia States)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Facility Manager – a rare hybrid of deep technical authority and exemplary leadership. You will take full ownership of all factory Operations & Maintenance (O&M) in a fast-paced, high-precision high tech plant.

Your mission is to enforce uncompromising technical standards, eliminate operational slack, and drive a passive, local team toward discipline, speed, and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Full Ownership of Factory O&M

  • Take end-to-end responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of all critical facility systems: Water (including DI water), Electrical (LV/MV), Process & utility gases, HVAC systems, Fire protection, and Elevators.
  • Enforce strict industry standards – maintain rigorous control over humidity, cleanliness, fire safety, and uptime.
  • Close the technical gap – Hands-on technical authority capable of inspecting, diagnosing, and taking direct action.

2. Team Re-organization – From Chaos to Discipline

  • Lead a direct team of technicians and engineers.
  • Building quality teams – establish clear SOPs, daily accountability, performance metrics, and a zero-tolerance policy for recurring errors.
  • Solve onsite issues and recommending solutions leveraging from accumulated experiences.

3. Outsourcing Control – Strong KPI & Penalty Regime

  • Manage external vendors with outsourced local personnel.
  • Design and enforce a strict KPI mechanism.

4. Emergency Fallback – First Responder

  • Act as the first responsible person for any major facility accident (fire, blackout, gas leak, cooling failure).
  • Respond onsite outside normal working hours (nights, weekends, public holidays) to lead emergency repairs and restore operations.
  • Take charge and lead crisis containment and rapid recovery to ensure zero production interruption in a 24/7 plant.

Professional Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent technical field).
  • Experience: 10+ years of facility management experience in large-scale manufacturing.
  • Preferred Industries: High Tech manufacturing / Semiconductor / Chemical (high-precision, high-stakes environments).
  • Track Record: Proven experience managing outsourced service teams with penalty-based KPIs. Proven track record of successfully building a team from 0 to 1.
  • Certification: Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or equivalent is a plus.

Language & Communication (Mandatory)

  • Fluent in Mandarin Chinese – Must communicate with Chinese leadership without barriers and fully understand the day to day issues on hand.
  • Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia – Must be able to directly. communicate & guide local employees in local language.
