Job Overview:
The Senior Field Engineer prepares for and executes offshore pipeline and umbilical pre-commissioning operations.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Reporting to Operations Engineer and working on live projects. Understanding Project Requirements, developing installation procedures, establishing installation aids and all resources required for scope specific, mobilizing construction vessels. During installation phase to work offshore onboard construction vessels to ensure seamless offshore execution. Guide offshore crew on project specific installation requirements as per approved procedures. Able to work offshore as a team player among other Field Engineers and offshore crew
- Tender and Proposal Support: Review tender documents, including scope of work, drawings, and specifications. Coordinate inputs from various Offshore Operations departments into a cohesive proposal summary
- Project Planning and Execution: Determine work sequences, equipment needs, and crew compositions. Prepare schedules for marine work, including vessel modifications and preparatory tasks
- Cost Estimation and Subcontracting: Prepare cost estimates for offshore work, including miscellaneous costs like barge rig-ups and port clearances. Coordinate subcontracting activities, including preparing technical descriptions and bid price structures for subcontract requests
- Engineering Coordination: Coordinate required construction engineering and preparation of technical drawings for bid submittals. Prepare written procedures on safe work methods that meet project requirements
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (e.g., Civil, Offshore, Mechanical, Naval, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related fields)
- Experience: Min 2+ years in the oil and gas industry with major contractors in field engineering roles
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD
- Certifications: Professional Engineer registration or membership in a professional engineering society is preferred
Project / Area / Regional:
- Specifics:Work Environment - Field Engineers at McDermott operate in dynamic environments, often at offshore or onshore project sites. The role requires close collaboration with construction teams, subcontractors, and engineering departments to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and safely
- Able to travel globally and work offshore for duration of up to 60days
