About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Group Accounting & Reporting Analyst to support the Group Finance function in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in the group close process, reporting to Japan Post, statutory reporting, audit support, and continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.

The successful candidate will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders across the business and contribute to maintaining high standards of financial governance, reporting accuracy, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Group Accounting & Financial Reporting

Group Close & Consolidation

  • Prepare and post accounting journals as part of Group month-end close activities using OneStream.
  • Prepare and maintain Group balance sheet reconciliations, including:
    • Equity
    • Goodwill
    • Equity-accounted investments
  • Calculate and maintain Foreign Currency Translation Reserve (FCTR) balances for designated entities.
  • Support Group balance sheet and income statement analytical reviews.
  • Ensure accounting records are accurately maintained and Group accounting policies are consistently applied.
Japan Post Reporting

Prepare and coordinate reporting packages submitted to Japan Post, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting deadlines, including:

Monthly Reporting

  • Balance Sheet
  • Income Statement
  • Cash Flow Statement
  • Debt reporting
  • Other management reporting requirements

Quarterly Reporting

  • Multiple reporting packs containing disclosure information similar to financial statement requirements.

This includes:

  • Liaising with the Japan Post Finance and Accounting teams throughout the reporting cycle.
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders to collect required financial information.
  • Consolidating and analysing financial data.
  • Performing completeness, accuracy, and consistency checks.
  • Preparing supporting schedules, reconciliations, and documentation.
  • Managing timelines to ensure timely submission of all reporting packages.

Statutory Reporting & Audit Support

  • Assist in the preparation of Toll Group's annual consolidated statutory financial statements, including assigned disclosures.
  • Support preparation of local statutory financial statements for designated legal entities.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by providing documentation, analysis, and responding to audit queries.
  • Perform quarterly and annual ABS reporting requirements.
  • Manage the process for issuing Letters of Financial Support to subsidiary entities.
  • Maintain and monitor legal entity reconciliations between the legal entity register and OneStream.

Operational Excellence

  • Support initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency, effectiveness, and consistency of Group accounting and reporting processes.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting activities and strengthen financial controls.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects and finance transformation initiatives as required.
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement within the Group Finance function.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure Group financial reporting complies with:
    • Australian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (AIFRS/IFRS)
    • Japanese Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (JGAAP)
  • Ensure compliance with Group Accounting Policies and other corporate policies.
  • Support adherence to relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, including taxation and corporate governance obligations.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and documentation standards.
Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across the Toll Finance community.
  • Establish trusted partnerships with the Japan Post Finance team.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external auditors, consultants, and other service providers.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to support reporting and compliance objectives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA or CA qualification (or actively working towards completion).

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in Group Accounting, Financial Reporting, External Audit, or a similar finance function.
  • Experience supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes within a multi-entity environment.
  • Exposure to IFRS/AIFRS reporting requirements.
  • Experience with ERP, financial consolidation, or reporting systems (OneStream experience highly regarded).

  • Strong financial reporting and analytical skills.

  • Strong organisational and time management capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities and reporting deadlines.
