About the Job
To administer, organize and supervise all financial and accounting activities in the Malaysia organization to ensure accuracy and timeliness of transactions and reports, and their conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing a full set of accounts and ensuring accurate, timely preparation of financial statements and management reports for submission to management and the holding company under tight deadlines.
- Oversees monthly and quarterly financial reporting, ensuring compliance with Malaysia Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and maintaining accuracy in all financial records.
- Handles overall financial operations including cash flow monitoring, budgeting, internal controls, financial reporting, and consolidation of accounting information.
- Ensures proper implementation and maintenance of financial systems to support effective financial management, reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Manages tax-related functions including tax computations and deferred tax, and ensures compliance with relevant tax regulations and reporting standards.
- Liaises with external auditors, internal auditors, and tax agents to ensure compliance with accounting standards, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Provides support for financial, tax, and statutory audits, including preparation and submission of required documentation.
- Oversees and guides a team of finance and accounts personnel, ensuring team objectives and organizational targets are achieved.
- Provides training, coaching, and ongoing support to finance team members to enhance performance and capability.
- Maintains strong working relationships with banking institutions and other financial stakeholders to support business operations.
- Monitors cash flow requirements and provides financial insights to support management decision-making.
- Ensures continuous compliance with financial policies, industry regulations, and legislative updates.
- Performs ad-hoc financial tasks and supports special assignments as required by management.
Job Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, with professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or CA being an added advantage.
- Membership with MIA is an added advantage.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant finance or accounting experience is required.
- Strong understanding of MFRS, financial reporting, and accounting standards is required.
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
