About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven, and highly analytical Senior Finance Manager to lead the finance function and support strategic business growth. The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, treasury, taxation, internal controls, and business performance across multiple entities and operating brands.
This role requires a hands-on finance leader who can balance strategic planning with operational execution while partnering closely with management to drive profitability, efficiency, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Business Partnership
· Lead the overall finance function across multiple companies.
· Provide strategic financial advice and recommendations to management.
· Partner with Operations, HR, Procurement, Marketing, and other departments to improve financial performance.
· Drive financial planning initiatives that support business expansion and operational excellence.
· Present financial performance, business insights, and recommendations to management and Directors.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
· Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
· Oversee statutory financial reporting and ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
· Manage year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors.
· Ensure compliance with all taxation, statutory, regulatory, and corporate requirements
· Review and strengthen internal controls, governance, and financial policies.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Business Performance
· Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting exercises.
· Monitor financial performance against budgets and identify improvement opportunities.
· Analyse sales, labour costs, food costs, operating expenses, and profitability across all brands.
· Develop financial models and business cases for new projects, outlets, and investments.
· Recommend cost optimisation strategies while maintaining operational efficiency.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management
· Manage cash flow planning and working capital.
· Monitor banking facilities, financing arrangements, and liquidity requirements.
· Oversee payment schedules and ensure effective cash management
· Maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, auditors, and external advisors.
Team Leadership & Development
· Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to achieve high performance.
· Establish clear KPIs, accountability, and continuous professional development.
· Review finance processes and implement improvements through automation and best practices.
· Foster collaboration between finance and operational teams.
Risk Management & Internal Controls
· Strengthen financial governance and internal control frameworks.
· Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
· Ensure compliance with Company policies, delegated authority, and approval processes.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce financial risks.
Professionalism & Accountability
· Ownership & Leadership: Take full ownership of the finance operations and proactively identify opportunities to improve financial performance, governance, and operational efficiency.
· Commercial Mindset: Balance financial discipline with business growth by providing commercially sound recommendations and practical solutions.
· Communication & Reporting: Deliver accurate, timely, and meaningful financial reports and management updates to management.
· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong working relationships with operational leaders and provide finance support that enables informed decision-making.
· Problem Solving: Anticipate challenges, recommend practical solutions, and lead financial improvement initiatives without requiring close supervision.
· Responsiveness: Maintain high responsiveness during working hours while supporting critical business requirements outside normal office hours when necessary.
Working Hours & Flexibility
· Standard Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
· Operational Flexibility: Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, flexibility is required to support month-end closing, audits, budgeting exercises, new outlet openings, and business-critical projects.
· Business Support: The Senior Finance Manager may be required to attend management meetings, Board meetings, operational reviews, or business events outside normal working hours when necessary.
Requirements
· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
· Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA, or equivalent is highly preferred.
· Minimum 6 – 8 years of finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position.
· Experience managing multi-company or multi-outlet operations is highly advantageous.
· Strong knowledge of Malaysian taxation, statutory compliance, and financial reporting standards.
· Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and business analysis.
· Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
· Experience within the F&B, hospitality, retail, or multi-site environment will be an added advantage.
