Job Description

About the Role

The role executes and supports the delivery of accurate and timely statutory & group financial reporting, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and day-to-day finance business partner support to key stakeholders. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, analysis and operational support, working closely with the team lead and broader business teams to ensure strict compliance with company policies & accounting standards and support insightful financial analysis.

Accounting Framework and Related Control Environment (Statutory & Group reporting)

  • Assist in the preparation of local statutory financial statements, group management reporting, and local regulatory reporting timely and accurately in accordance with applicable company policies, regulatory standards and accounting standards.
  • Support year-end and interim audit processes and group reporting requirements by preparing schedules, reconciliations and audit documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with local accounting team and BPO partner to ensure effective processes are in place to enable accurate and timely Financial Reporting.
  • Assist to prepare and monitor end-to-end accounting & reporting processes for small entities under the control of DFI Malaysia, Brunei and Philippines
  • Support process improvement and control initiatives that will help improve current processes, drive efficiency and productivity throughout the Finance value chain.
  • Review monthly reconciliations prepared by BPO and troubleshoot aged reconciling items
  • Prepare and review Group Consolidation Pack (SRS) to Statutory Accounts reconciliation.
  • Liaise with the external auditor to ensure that interim and year-end audit requirements are completed and audited financial statements are released and filed in a accurate & timely manner.
  • Monitor, coordinate and support the timely completion of corporate audits as required.

Finance Planning & Analysis and Finance Business Partner

  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting activities, including data collection and template preparation, in line with Group timelines
  • Prepare analysis of financial performance against actuals, budget and forecast
  • Support preparation of management reports, dashboards, presentation materials and analysis
  • Support and participate in scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and ad hoc financial modeling/ ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy and help to improve financial awareness and discipline within the business
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.

Archiving:

  • Maintain archiving requirements and related controls of business records in line with local regulations.
  • Ensure that corporate records are available upon request from authorities.

Other Activities:

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects/initiatives as required

About You

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, CA or equivalent) is preferred or in progress
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in Finance Department (preferably with external audit experience) Experience in statutory reporting, group reporting or FP&A is preferred
  • Preferably with hands-on exposure to SAP and consolidation systems
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/MMFRS or equivalent)
  • Good understanding of month-end closing and financial reporting processes.
  • Strong excel skills; experience with ERP systems is an advantage
  • Ability to work with large data sets and perform detailed financial analysis
  • Can fluently communicate in English and ability to work with non-finance stakeholders
  • High level of integrity, accountability and professionalism
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Team-oriented, pro-active and reliable
