Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Job Summary

Based in SRS Penang office. To complement Manager in managing design consultants, supervising junior staff and driving forward the technical review, coordination and management of Geotechnical and site investigation activities in particular for detailed design and implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g. Penang LRT).

Key Responsibilities / Duties

1. Geotechnical desk study, broad-based geological assessment and geotechnical risk assessment.
2. Planning, procurement and management of site investigation works, including geotechnical data management.
3. Technical review of design consultants submissions (design drawings, reports, calculations, specifications, etc.).
4. Design management and document/drawing coordination, in line with project processes and procedures.
5. Geotechnical design checking & analysis of foundations, ground treatment and slope treatments.
6. Identifying alternative solutions and value-engineering opportunities, working together with consultants and specialist contractors where required.
7. Coordinate and manage external parties (i.e. consultants, authorities, client, etc.) and liaise effectively with other departments (construction, commercial, etc.) and members within the organization.
8. Preparation of technical notes, reports & presentation material.
9. Incorporation of digitalisation and ESG into relevant aspects of work.
10. Supervision and development of junior members of staff.
11. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the management.
12. To comply and adhere to all matters pertaining to Quality, Safety & Health and Environment related to the job scope and workplace as required by the company.

Qualifications

Graduate in Civil Engineering.

Experience

Senior Engineer: 4 to 10 years

Competencies Required

• Competent in Geotechnical design software packages.
• Competent in Microsoft software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD.
• Competent in spoken & written English & Bahasa.
