Position overview:
This individual will be reporting to the Financial Controller and supporting the company primarily in group consolidation, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
Job Description:
- Prepare monthly consolidation, review consolidation schedules, conduct flux analysis and explain variances on a timely basis.
- Ensure Group's consolidated revenues, expenditures, assets and liabilities are reported with accuracy and completeness.
- Maintenance of group-wide chart of accounts.
- Ownership over reconciliation of intercompany balances and transactions between intra-group entities as well as between related parties, review monthly intercompany reconciliations, and work with respective finance teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee audits and coordinate the satisfactory resolution of queries so that audits are completed on time. This also includes working closely with respective local finance teams to ensure they are audit ready, and providing support as required during audits.
- Address key audit findings and implement auditors recommendations across all subsidiaries.
- Review, propose and implement improvements to internal controls.
- Primary preparer of stakeholder presentation materials, such as Audit Committee deck.
- Primary preparer of Board/Audit Committee papers where necessary.
- Ensure tight coordination with all country finance and accounting teams.
- Coordination of M&A accounting and audit integration activities across the Group.
- Coordination of regional tax work and entries with the regional tax manager to improve visibility and forecasting accuracy of tax expenses and effective tax rate of the Group.
- Provide the necessary level of support and participation in ad-hoc projects such as system implementations, due diligence exercises, merger and acquisition transactions, and purchase price allocations.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, ACCA, CPA, or other relevant Professional qualification.
- Qualified/Certified Accountant is preferred.
- Experience with group consolidations is mandatory.
- Well-versed in accounting standards, including IFRS and MFRS.
- At least 5 years experience in similar role.
- Experience in dealing with oversea entities and/or teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge in using ERPs. Experience with Microsoft D365 will be an added advantage.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English with strong ability to present to key stakeholders.
- Good team player qualities with strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Proactive, independent, with ability to multi-task and manage time to meet multiple deadlines.
- Experience with E-commerce and Data/AI sector will be an advantage.
