JOB PURPOSE
- Review Client technical documentation and requirements.
- Produce instrumentation and control engineering deliverables in accordance with project requirements, schedules, and cost objectives.
- Develop instrumentation specifications for packaged equipment in coordination with package requisitioners.
- Define supply and service limits and prepare the required instrumentation documentation for integration into package unit orders.
- Technically evaluate supplier offers related to instrumentation scope (PLC systems, cabling, instruments, etc.).
- Conduct detailed studies and gather all relevant system information to ensure accurate and complete design deliverables.
- Support detailed engineering activities including hook-ups, installation details, layouts, routing, and wiring.
- Review and ensure that drawings produced by designers and drafters accurately reflect all required design details and comply with good engineering practices.
- Perform in-house instrument sizing and selection, and manage studies conducted by third-party subcontractors or vendors.
- Prepare, update, and check specifications and calculations for detailed engineering.
- Perform technical clarifications, conduct bid clarification meetings, and carry out technical bid analysis and evaluations.
- Review and approve vendor documentation and deliverables.
- Attend and actively participate in Client and Vendor meetings.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and familiarity with relevant design codes and standards (e.g. ANSI, API, ASME, ASTM, IEC, IOGP, ISA, ISO).
- Carry out onshore and offshore site visits as required.
- Prepare site survey checklists, reports, and other technical reports as required.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines and project support functions such as procurement and planning.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as required.
- Provide site support during construction and manage system vendors, integrators, and field instrument vendors during EPC project execution.

Project Manager / Lead Instrument Engineer (as per assigned role and responsibilities)
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure high-quality engineering design outputs in compliance with internal procedures, Client requirements, and international codes and standards.
- Remain fully accountable for all assigned work and engineering activities.
- Ensure timely client approval of engineering and requisitioning documents, as well as timely technical and commercial definition of change orders and claims.
- Prepare, update, and verify specifications and engineering calculations.
- Contribute to optimization of material quantities through value engineering proposals.
- Ensure Vendors comply with contractual technical specifications.
- Adhere to committed man-hours and project budgets.
- Provide timely internal and external reporting on engineering activities to the Lead Engineer.
- Meet project quality objectives.
- Interface effectively with other engineering disciplines and project support functions, including procurement and planning.
- Provide guidance, supervision, and mentoring to junior engineering staff.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or Electronic Engineering, accredited by the Board of Engineers Malaysia or an approved equivalent.
- For Senior Engineer positions: minimum 10 years of instrumentation and control engineering design experience in onshore and/or offshore projects.
- Preferably a registered Professional Engineer (PE) with a local board or approved equivalent.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Willingness to travel and be stationed at various Engineering Operating Centers or Client offices, including overseas assignments when required.
- Site experience or OEM experience of 12 years is an advantage.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with Clients, peers, equipment vendors, and suppliers.
- Positive professional references and feedback from past employers and/or clients.
- Duration 6 Month Contract + possible extension
