Role Description Our growing studio is seeking agile, authentic, and collaborative professionals to join our team. Located in Kuala Lumpur, we are a studio of passionate, energetic, and highly motivated individuals. Together, our team of talented interior designers and project team, create powerful and unexpected, award-winning designs. Status quo is not an option in our work. - Contribute to producing conceptual and fully executed designs with strong creative design ideas, out-of-the-box preferred!
- Have their finger on the pulse of current Furniture, Material, Finish, and Design for commercial interiors.
- Manage project-specific budget, schedule, workload, and staffing with little Principal oversight.
- Create Construction Documents independently.
- Have the ability to work with multiple clients, and on multiple projects, simultaneously.
- Contribute to producing conceptual and fully executed designs.
- Collaborate, within project teams and with vendors and consultants, to produce successful design outcomes.
- Be motivated to participate in and support firm Business Development activities.
- Provide mentorship and leadership support to other team members.
- Determine client's goal and requirements of the project and prepare concept and design proposals with workplace strategy.
- To lead initial concept presentation and project meetings.
- Prepare full set conceptual drawings in 2D and 3D presentation and layout plan as well as to prepare conceptual design and sample material board.
- Determine cost and project requirements in the budgeting phase.
- Time management for Design Phase, Tender Phase, Construction Phase and Completion Phase.
- Quality control and site inspection pre and post construction to meet client goals.
- Able to handle professional design activities across a wide variety of project types and to lead staff, as well as assist senior leaders, in production, project management, client management, and related responsibilities.
- Able to handle wide variety of project types and complex professional design activities, including: predesign, programming, visioning, spatial planning, materials, finishes, detailing, FF&E, lighting specifications, and code requirements.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years minimum professional work experience with a focus on Corporate/ Commercial Interiors.
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven ability to handle clients and manage projects independently from concept to completion.
- Proficiency in Sketchup, Enscape, renderings, CAD, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel and MS Office tools. Animation walkthrough capability will be an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to producing error-free drawings.
- Knowledge of Generative AI tools (e.g. CHatGPT, Gemini, Midjourney, Narva, Claude) is an advantage.
