Job description:
We are seeking a highly skilledSenior IT Consultantwith deep expertise inSQL Server and MongoDBto join our Subang Jaya office. This role focuses onhands-on database administration, troubleshooting, and optimizationfor high-availability production environments. You will work closely with the Tech Lead DBA to support mission-critical corporate applications and contribute to continuous process improvements and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily database operations, including tickets, RFCs, and user requests.
- Perform routine database maintenance and ensure backup and recovery compliance.
- Administer and manage high-availabilityMicrosoft SQL ServerandMongoDBproduction environments.
- Participate as a technical resource in IT projects, including database design, implementation, and integration.
- Automate recurring database tasks and maintain documentation of processes and procedures.
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization (PTO) using native monitoring tools.
- Apply best practices in data modeling, integration, and scalability.
- Analyze and resolve issues independently, providing end-to-end problem resolution.
- Share knowledge with team members and support cross-team collaboration.
- Participate in rotational 24/7 on-call duty to ensure system availability.
Qualifications
- 9+ years of proven experiencein Microsoft SQL Server administration, design, and implementation.
- Hands-on experience inMongoDB administrationin production environments.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and hybrid integrations.
- Knowledge of Windows Server & Red Hat Linux environments, including scripting and virtualization.
- Experience in automating daily database tasks (maintenance, monitoring, deployments).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills in English.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to adopt new database tools and solutions.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with PostgreSQL, containers (Docker/Kubernetes), RedGate SQL Tools, SQL Sentry, Avamar, Veeam, Azure Backup, or Cohesity.
- Background in Big Data, BI reporting, or Data Science projects.
