The Role:
This is a high-impact IT project coordination role embedded within a significant cyber security enhancement program at a large, complex higher education institution. Responsible for end-to-end coordination of cyber security-related project workstreams, you will serve as the primary liaison between the central IT function, security teams, business stakeholders, and vendors, ensuring project outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and with minimal disruption to operations. The role demands a project professional with sound understanding of cyber security delivery, strong planning and governance capability, and the confidence to manage competing priorities across multiple concurrent workstreams in a sensitive, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage cyber security program workstreams end-to-end, including project planning, schedule and budget management, resource coordination, risk tracking, and delivery reporting against agreed milestones.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the central IT and security functions, local business stakeholders, vendors, and end users, maintaining clear communication, alignment on program goals, and timely resolution of issues.
  • Integrate change management activities into cyber security project delivery, including stakeholder communications, training coordination, and readiness assessments to support smooth adoption of new security controls and processes.
  • Manage vendor and supplier engagement across the cyber security program, including procurement coordination, performance tracking, and oversight of third-party deliverables to ensure on-time, on-budget outcomes.
  • Identify, assess, and escalate project risks and issues, producing regular and accurate reporting for governance forums while supporting continuous improvement across program administration and security delivery practices.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Demonstrated project management capability with a track record of coordinating IT or cyber security projects through to completion in large, complex organisations, including schedule management, risk reporting, and multi-vendor oversight.
  • Working knowledge of cyber security concepts, frameworks, or programs, with the ability to engage credibly with security teams and translate technical security requirements into project plans and stakeholder communications.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical, security, and non-technical audiences and maintain alignment across diverse groups.
  • Experience supporting change management activities within large organisations, including preparing stakeholder communications, coordinating training programs, and assessing readiness for new systems or security controls.
  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, project management, information security, business, or a related discipline, with advanced proficiency in project management tools and strong documentation and analytical capability.

What's in it for You:
