We're hiring a Senior Java Backend Engineer for a leading international financial institution with a long-standing presence in global banking.
This is a senior hands-on role for someone who can build reliable backend platforms, work across complex integrations, and contribute to technical delivery in a regulated environment.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot or Quarkus
- Develop microservices and REST/SOAP APIs
- Integrate applications with databases and enterprise systems
- Work with Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift and AWS
- Support CI/CD, testing, debugging and performance improvement
- Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, database and messaging teams
- Take ownership of technical delivery and support development best practices
What we're looking for
- 10+ years of Java development experience
- Strong background in Spring Boot, microservices and API development
- Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL or similar databases
- Hands-on exposure to Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift and cloud platforms
- Good understanding of backend security, monitoring and DevOps practices
- Experience working in banking, financial services or regulated environments
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and technical leadership skills
