Senior Java Developer

Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Banking (Crédit Agricole CIB) is the corporate and investment banking arm of Crédit Agricole Group, world's 10th largest bank by total assets.

Our Singapore center is the 2nd largest IT setup (after Paris Head Office) for Crédit Agricole CIB's worldwide business. We work daily with international branches located in 30 markets by:

• Providing premium In-house Banking applications

Department and Team

Capital Market IT (CMI) is the IT department within the bank focused on solutions related to Capital Markets. This includes Front Office (FO) booking platforms, Risk Management (RM) control and regulatory reporting systems, financial product and contract valuation systems, and much more. It is the department most directly exposed to the bank's financial operations.

The SALES IT division works across the full value chain to sustain business activity and enable its acceleration (thru integration of new financial products, optimizing and automating front to back business processes).

Position

This role aims to develop on SALES application, in project mode as well as maintenance, and to support the run the bank function. It requires a deep understanding of the nature of business operations, timing of activities & data flowing through internal and external systems. The build and support team continuously works with business users, infrastructure engineers and system managers.

Main Responsibilities

Build & change management

• Able to lead in terms of technology and conceptualize, propose design and architectural evolution, along with operational model.
• Contributing to development of high quality fully tested source code complying with deadlines, schedule and coding standards.
• Liaise with business analysts for clarification and understanding of requirements.
• Provide deployment and change management of the solution/platform.
• Develop tests strategy in coordination with project manager / Business Analysts.
• Provide technical assistance during user acceptance test.

Incidents and Requests management (business users and other IT teams)

• Communicate effectively.
• Analyse enhancement requests and bug-fixes.
• Document deliveries.
• Support applications in production - analyze and resolve issues as they arise as well as propose optimizations for future.
• Monitor the results and quality of the different software solutions and projects implemented in the organization.

Change management

• Apply monthly release strategy, following the team's milestones for analysis, coding and testing.
• Support the release roadmap in production.
• Operations management
• Application support, level 3 (expert).
• Troubleshoot and fix issues.

Continuous improvement

• Process improvements.

Qualifications and Profile

The successful candidate will definitely have:

• Master or bachelor's degree in computer science/ information technology/ Programming & Systems Analysis/ Science (Computer Studies) faculties.
• At least 12 years of software development experience
• At least 8 years experience working with Java, Angular, AG Grid, SpringBoot, REST API, KAFKA and SOLACE
• Strong knowledge on various design patterns
• A strong understanding of recent Java language features, such as lambdas, streams, and futures
• Familiar with AWS cloud architecture
• Strong knowledge on Docker/Kubernetes, Microservices
• Good knowledge of algorithms and data structures, with strong fundamentals in complexity analysis
• Strong ability to analyze code – understand execution flow & debug even without access to a debugger (SONARQUBE)
• Experience with MAVEN, GIT, writing and maintaining integration tests
• Good knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL, REDIS) or an SQL-inspired dialect such as HQL
• Experience in cloud native architecture.
• Gitlab, Jenkins and Ansible with exposure to devops culture
• Jira or a similar issue-tracking system
• Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize AI-powered tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity and problem-solving capabilities
• Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals including prompt engineering, model limitations, and best practices for human-AI collaboration
• Experience in evaluating AI-generated outputs for accuracy, security, and alignment with business requirements
• Ability to identify opportunities for AI integration and automation within existing workflows and processes

An ideal candidate will also have some or all of the following:

• JupyterLab, JupyterHub, Jupter notebook, Mercury ecosystem
• Python
• ElasticSearch
• Understanding or interest in finance & financial markets, particularly interest rate derivatives in their many forms (Forwards, Futures, Swaps, Swaptions, etc)

Additionally, knowledge of the following would be helpful although it is not required:

• Web development fundamentals (HTML, Javascript, typescript, jQuery, ReactJS, etc)
• Strong familiarity with Linux and bash

Working Hours

• Work hours : 845am – 6:30pm SGT
• On-call rotation with team mates to cover night and week-end support on demand.

Note - This is a Contract role-12 months. Renewable subject to performance.
