Key Accountabilities
Accounting and Reporting
- Group Month‑End Close and Consolidation Support
- Support group month‑end and quarter‑end close processes, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and within reporting timelines.
- Prepare and post accounting journals as part of group close activities.
- Support group consolidation during month‑end close, including:
- i) Group adjustments and recharges
- ii) Consolidation journals as assigned
- Ensure accounting entries are recorded in line with Group accounting policies.
2.
Balance Sheet, Cashflow and Capital Expenditure (Capex) Reporting
- Support periodic balance sheet reviews across Group entities by:
- i) Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
- ii) Identifying reconciling items or inconsistencies
- iii) Following up with business unit finance teams where required
- Support group cashflow reporting, including:
- i) Preparation of cashflow statements
- ii) Cash movement analysis for group reporting purposes
- Support capital expenditure (capex) reporting, including:
- i) Tracking capital expenditure movements
- ii) Supporting correct classification of capital vs operating expenditure
- iii) Assisting with group‑level capex reconciliations and reporting schedules
- Group Reporting
- Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly group reporting packs by:
- i) Collating financial data
- ii) Performing basic checks for completeness and consistency
- iii) Preparing supporting schedules and documentation
- Assist in meeting internal and external reporting deadlines.
- Audit Support (Internal and External)
- Support external audit activities, including:
- i) Collating requested information and documentation
- ii) Preparing audit schedules and support files
- iii) Responding to data requests under guidance from senior team members
- Support internal audit reviews by providing documentation and follow‑up information as required.
- Accounting Standards and Policies
- Support compliance with AFRS, IFRS and JGAAP, as well as Group accounting policies.
- Assist in maintaining and updating Group accounting policy documentation.
- Support training and knowledge‑sharing initiatives related to group reporting processes.
- Assist finance teams across business units with questions on Group accounting policies and reporting requirements.
- Group Finance Projects and Continuous Improvement
- Provide support on group finance initiatives and project work as required.
- Assist with process improvement activities aimed at improving the efficiency and consistency of group close and reporting processes.
Relationships and Collaboration
- Work closely with the Group Finance team and finance teams across various business units to support group reporting activities.
- Participate collaboratively during peak reporting periods to ensure timely close and reporting.
Occupational Health And Safety (OHS) Responsibilities
- Comply with the Toll's OHS policies and legislated OHS requirements.
- Maintain a positive workplace safety culture, including leading, promoting and participating in OHS activities within the function.
- Ensure the safety of team members and colleagues and ensure OHS awareness and practices.
Other General Responsibilities

Competencies
We are looking for someone with:
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
- 3 to 5 years experience in group accounting, financial reporting or audit.
- CPA or CA qualification or currently working towards completion.
- Exposure to reporting under AFRS / IFRS, with JGAAP exposure desirable.
- Experience supporting month‑end close in a multi‑entity environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined processes.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with ERP or consolidation systems; OneStream experience is desirable.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
